Camp TLC Overview
Camp TLC is for children ages 3-8 with special needs or developmental delays. Camp TLC is designed to bridge the gap while school is out. TLC believes that a child can continue to make progress even while school is not in session. Summer camps do not have to be about maintenance. They should be about continuing to grow and gain new skills. At Camp TLC children will be under the care of two occupational therapy practitioners, a speech language pathologist, and three individuals trained to work with children with special needs. Sessions will include a maximum of 6 children to 6 staff (1:1 ratio). Staff to child ratio is low to promote more individualized attention and assist each child in meeting their individual goals. Sessions will be structured and consist of a circle/story time, sensory integrative therapy, social interaction/play development, and individual 1:1 therapy with an occupational and speech therapist.
Children will be divided up and placed in sessions according to their skills. Sessions will include children age 3-5 and children age 6-8. Each week a new theme will be introduced. Stories and activities for that week will encompass each weekly theme. Examples of themes include: All About Me, Safety, and Animals. In addition to receiving 1:1 attention a HEP will be designed for each child to enable you to assist your child at home. Activities and exercises will also be sent home weekly in addition to a weekly progress note.
Due to the individualized attention that will be offered space is limited. We will be accepting a total of 24 children into the program. Call early to reserve a spot for your child.

*The Center for TLC will try to accomodate your chosen days and times. Children will be placed in sessions based on appropriateness with the group.
*Registration is for an 8 week session. Make-up sessions are not available. There is a non-refundable $100.00 deposit to reserve your child's spot in the summer program. Spaces are filled on a first come first serve basis. Due to the nature of the program only 24 spots are available. Camper registration is due by May 16, 2008.
